Lauren has always had a passion for leadership. Her favorite leadership position was as the Vice President of a new Best Buddies chapter at her high school. In the chapter's first year, they won New Hampshire Best Buddies Chapter of the Year and were able to raise the most money in the state. Lauren was able to attend the Best Buddies International Leadership Conference in Indiana and learn more about people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). After the conference, Lauren worked hard to educate those around her on what she had learned by giving presentations to her community. She also helped to coordinate a peer mentor program where high school students helped middle school students with IDD to feel more comfortable about the transition to high school. Lauren is also passionate about fighting childhood cancer and started a Lemon Club to raise money and awareness at her high school after attending the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation Leadership Academy. Lauren was a member of the leadership team at her church and named team captain of the crew and ski racing teams at her high school. She is currently a rising sophomore at the University of New Hampshire and is studying Occupational Therapy. At UNH, she is involved in Project Sunshine, Best Buddies, and Chi Omega.
