Girl Boss Money 101

Be a Girl Boss when it comes to all things money!  Learn tips and tools on how to save, grow, and manage your money.  Create a healthy and prosperous relationship with money, become more financially savvy and literate, and learn how to become financially independent in life.  This experience will include an introduction to a variety of forms of money - from currency and coins, checking accounts, credit and debit cards, to Bitcoin and electronic currency.  By the end of this experience, girls will have a basic understanding of the different sources of money, how to responsibly build their credit and understand the benefits and danger of credit cards, how to build their savings, and basic budgeting.  This foundation will provide them with a healthy start in life as it relates to money matters.

This is an interactive 15 hour course on all things money that will be delivered over Zoom from Monday - Friday at 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.  Girls will also benefit from restorative yoga poses and stretch breaks throughout the program. 

This course is designed for both Middle School and High School girls who are interested in deepening their knowledge and skills in all things money.

Coaches/Instructors:

Joni Swedlund is the owner and founder of the Inner Rock Group. Joni has over 26 years of global business experience, including 18 years as a senior partner with Deloitte where she grew a $1B business over 10 years from the ground up serving global clients in the financial services industry. She held many executive positions including being the Chief Succession Officer and a Board Member for Deloitte Consulting, was an expat in Tokyo, Japan, and most recently decided to launch Inner Rock Group based on her desire to inspire and empower more women and girls to step into their leadership. Joni is a certified professional coach, a member of the National Speaker’s Association and a 2020 Speaker Academy graduate, and the author of a children’s book, Tootalina, and soon to be released business book, Lead from Inside Out . She is a mother to two girls, Kate (16) and Ava (13).

Blythe Conway is a MA LPC licensed child and adolescent psychotherapist and certified yoga instructor. Blythe brings a lifetime of experience as the oldest of ten children and over 12 years’ experience and clinical background in the child and adolescent field of clinical counseling. Her experience and work include individual and group counseling for grades K – 12, students with special needs, pregnant and parenting. Blythe discovered yoga in 2009 when living in San Antonio while her husband was stationed on active duty Army orders. In 2015 she became a certified children’s yoga instructor and began teaching weekly classes at a popular Alexandria yoga studio. From there, she also began teaching at her children’s preschool, private events (The State Department, Girl Scouts of America, HNC Cancer Fund) and monthly tween/teen yoga series. Blythe is also a certified group fitness instructor with Fit4Mom Arlington-Alexandria and teaches a weekly class to prenatal and postnatal moms and their babies. When not teaching she loves spending time with her boys, Jack (8) and Quinn (5), whether they are playing their own sports, or they are traveling to new adventurous destinations as a family.
